Ekiti Tragedy: A Sad Tale likened to Chibok Girls Abduction and The Urgent Need for Improved Security Measures and Leadership in Nigeria

Read Time:1 Minute, 39 Second

In Ekiti State, Nigeria, a group of Islamist Fulani militants has abducted approximately twelve Christian children from their school bus. These students, who attend the Apostolic Faith School, have yet to be located, causing great distress for their families and the community. The deliberate targeting of children is a heinous act that can only be described as pure evil. During this difficult time, it is essential to keep these precious children and their families in our thoughts and prayers.

Regrettably, it is disheartening to observe that the current President of Nigeria is perceived by some as the most ineffective leader the country has ever had. This sentiment is rooted in a lack of action and response to pressing issues. For instance, there have been instances of attacks and massacres in Plateau, but no visits or interventions from the President have been reported. Similarly, a bomb blast occurred in Ibadan without any visible visitation or engagement from the President. These incidents point to a lack of leadership and concern for the welfare of the citizens.

Moreover, in Ekiti, two traditional rulers have tragically lost their lives, likening their deaths to the slaughter of chickens. This alarming development raises questions about the state of security and safety in the region. It is imperative that these cases are thoroughly investigated and appropriate measures are taken to prevent such incidents from recurring.

In conclusion, the abduction of Christian children in Ekiti State, Nigeria, by Islamist Fulani militants is an abhorrent act that deserves condemnation. Our prayers and support should be extended to the families affected by this tragedy. The dissatisfaction with the current President’s actions, or lack thereof, in response to various crises is a cause for concern. The absence of visits and interventions in the aftermath of attacks and bombings, as well as the loss of traditional rulers’ lives, raises significant alarm bells. It is essential to address the security issues and prioritize the safety of individuals and communities over economic interests.
