President Bola Tinubu has urged affluent individuals to extend their support to the less privileged in society, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan, in order to alleviate their suffering. Tinubu made this appeal on Sunday in Kano while inaugurating the distribution of 140 truck-loads of rice, which were generously donated by Senator Abdullahi Yari in honor of the President.

Representing Tinubu at the event, his Senior Special Assistant on Print Media, Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, expressed deep appreciation for Senator Yari’s donation. He emphasized that the primary objective of this gesture was to provide assistance to those in need during these critical times.

Tinubu emphasized the importance of collective responsibility and helping the vulnerable in society, stating that leadership is a shared responsibility worldwide. He called upon Nigerians to unite as a country and work together toward a better Nigeria.

Furthermore, Tinubu commended Senator Yari for his remarkable contribution of 140 trucks of rice, each labeled with Yari’s name and picture, which will be distributed to the less privileged. Tinubu acknowledged the significant impact this commodity would have in alleviating the hardships faced by many individuals.

President Tinubu also called on Nigerians to pray for the unity, peace, and progress of the country during the holy month of Ramadan. He emphasized the importance of collective prayers in seeking relief from the economic challenges bedeviling the nation.

Dr. Abubakar Danburam, the representative of Senator Yari, disclosed that the 140 trucks contained a total of 84,000 bags of rice, each weighing 50kg. The rice will be distributed to at least 500,000 households in the North. This generous gesture aims to complement Tinubu’s ongoing efforts in supporting the needy and other vulnerable groups in society.

Senator Yari, in his remarks, urged Nigerians to pray for relief from the economic challenges that the nation currently faces.

President Tinubu’s call for wealthy individuals to assist the indigents during Ramadan highlights the importance of compassion and solidarity within society. It is hoped that this appeal will inspire others to contribute their resources and efforts to alleviate the suffering of those in need, ultimately fostering a more inclusive and prosperous Nigeria.
