President Tinubu Say No to Ransom

During the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, President Tinubu restated his directive to the defense to ensure the safe rescue of kidnapped children and their return to their homes. The President’s stance was conveyed by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Muhammad Idris, during a briefing with State House Correspondents after the meeting.

President Tinubu emphasized his strong opposition to the payment of ransom to kidnappers, affirming that the current administration is resolute in tackling kidnapping and other criminal activities in the country. The President made it clear that under his leadership, the government will not tolerate kidnapping, particularly mass abductions.

In a separate incident, approximately 60 individuals were abducted by bandits in Buba village, located in the Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Tuesday. This attack occurred just days after the kidnapping of 287 students from the LEA Primary School and Government Secondary School in the Kuriga community, Chikun Local Government Area of the state.

The series of kidnappings in Kaduna State has heightened concerns about the security situation in the region. President Tinubu’s reiterated commitment to combating kidnapping aims to address these concerns and ensure the safety and well-being of the citizens.

The recent kidnapping in Buba village, following the abduction of students in the Kuriga community, highlights the urgent need for robust security measures in Kaduna State and across the country. The government’s commitment to tackling kidnapping is part of a broader strategy to improve security and stability nationwide, ensuring the well-being and prosperity of all Nigerians.
