EFCC Detains Bobrisky: Crossdresser Accused of Currency Mutilation and Naira Abuse
In a recent development, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has made headlines once again, this time with the arrest of the prominent figure in Nigerian media, Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky. The controversial crossdresser, Bobrisky was apprehended by EFCC operatives at Pinnock Estate, Lagos State, on the afternoon of April 3rd. Following his arrest, Bobrisky was promptly detained at the EFCC’s Lagos command office.
Confirming this development, Dele Oyewale, the spokesperson for the commission, stated that the crossdresser Bobrisky was apprehended by EFCC Operatives and that that Bobrisky’s arrest pertained to allegations of currency mutilation and the abuse of the Nigerian Naira. Oyewale emphasized that Bobrisky would soon face legal proceedings, as the commission intends to press charges against him. “He is with us,” Oyewale affirmed, “We arrested him over currency mutilation and abuse of the Naira. He is in our facility in Lagos state.”
Meanwhile, amidst the buzz surrounding his arrest, Bobrisky has offered insight into his journey, particularly his decision to transition from male to female. Speaking candidly on the matter, Bobrisky revealed that his initial foray into crossdressing stemmed from a strategic marketing approach. Recounting his days as an undergraduate at the University of Lagos, Bobrisky explained that he utilized crossdressing as a means to promote his business, which primarily focused on selling unisex clothing.
In an interview with veteran entertainer Charly Boy, Bobrisky elaborated on his unexpected evolution from a crossdresser to identifying as transgender. Reflecting on his trajectory, Bobrisky admitted that he never anticipated the transformative impact his crossdressing endeavors would have on his identity.
