Federal Ministry of Education Opens Portal for 2023/2024 Scholarship Awards to Tertiary Institutions
The Federal Ministry of Education has initiated the opening of the portal for eligible candidates, inviting applications for the 2023/2024 Nigerian Scholarship Award (NSA) and Education Bursary Award (EBA), aimed at supporting students in public tertiary institutions across the country.
In an announcement by Didi Walson-Jack, the ministry’s permanent secretary, prospective postgraduate students are required to hold a minimum of a first degree with second class honours in the upper division.
Eligible candidates for the scholarship must be enrolled as full-time students in public universities, while undergraduates, higher national diploma (HND), and national certificate of education (NCE) applicants should be registered full-time students in their second year or above, in federal or state universities, polytechnics, monotechnics, or colleges of education.
Furthermore, undergraduate scholarship applicants, including those with disabilities, are mandated to maintain a minimum cumulative grade points aggregate (CGPA) of 4.0 on a 5-point scale or 5.0 on a 7-point scale, or its equivalent. NCE and HND applicants are required to have a CGPA of 3.5 and above on a scale of 4.0.
To ensure fairness and transparency, the ministry emphasized that applicants found with double entries would face disqualification.
