Read Time:1 Minute, 49 Second

In a recent update, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has revealed that a significant milestone has been reached in the ongoing registration process for the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). As of now, a total of 1,072,122 candidates have successfully registered for the examination. This information was shared in the latest weekly bulletin released by the board.

With the registration process entering its fourth week, JAMB is reminding prospective candidates of the approaching deadline, which is set for February 26th, 2024. It is important for candidates to note that there may not be an extension granted beyond this date. Therefore, it is crucial for them to complete their registration within the specified timeframe to avoid any last-minute complications.

During a visit to Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers in Ibadan, Mr. Olugbenga Akintola, the Acting Director of the Ibadan Zonal Office, emphasized the importance of adhering to JAMB’s directives. He specifically highlighted the need for candidates to authenticate themselves through their profile codes and ePINs, which they receive on their mobile phones. This measure is intended to prevent issues such as group registrations and data mismatches, ensuring a smoother registration process.

JAMB had previously mandated all 2024 UTME candidates to display their profile codes and e-PINs, obtained through the Board’s USSD code 55019 or 66019, on their mobile phones during the registration process. This proactive step aims to address common issues that candidates have previously encountered, such as errors in their vital information like names, date of birth, and state/local government of origin.

In the past, some candidates have faced challenges due to schools mishandling their data, leading to errors in their applications. Correcting such errors can impose a burden on the candidates, and the outcome may not always be favorable. To avoid these complications, prospective candidates are advised to visit the provided link for comprehensive registration details. They should pay close attention to the authentication process and ensure the accurate display of their profile codes and e-PINs during registration.

As the deadline for registration rapidly approaches, JAMB urges candidates to act promptly and complete their registration to secure their spots in the 2024 UTME.
