Legal Action… Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, an APC representative from Ondo State, is firmly standing against Senator Abdul Ningi, and he is calling for legal charges to be brought against him. Senator Ibrahim alleges that Senator Ningi’s actions, including criminal negligence and disseminating misinformation, have the potential to compromise national peace.

Expressing his concern over the lack of remedial action taken by the President and the Senate, Senator Ibrahim announced his plan to address the issue. He intends to submit a letter to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), urging him to take action against Senator Ningi. Furthermore, if the IGP fails to respond, Senator Ibrahim has vowed to escalate the matter by filing a motion for mandamus against Senator Ningi. He remains resolute in his determination to pursue the charges.

Senator Abdul Ningi earlier alleged that the 2024 budget does not have a traceable 3.7 trillion naira. While clarifying his statement in an interview with the BBC, he emphasized that he was not speaking on behalf of the Northern Senators Forum and expressed no fear of potential suspension. However, he maintained his stance that the remaining 3.7 trillion naira in the budget cannot be verified.

Legal Action

During an interview with Arise TV, Senator Ibrahim asserted that Senator Ningi should face charges of criminal negligence and disseminating misinformation, actions that have the potential to breach national peace. So these two charges must come. Let me tell you, it’s not about anybody. If the President of the Senate decides to do nothing, no problem. I will send my letter to the IGP. If the IGP decides to do nothing, I will file a motion for mandamus, compelling a public officer to perform the job that had to do with this. These charges will happen whether you like it or not.”

This development highlights the growing tension between the two senators and the potential legal consequences that may arise from their clash.
