Nigerian Exams Body, JAMB, has provided an update on the release of the UTME 2024 results, stating that it is currently reviewing the examination details. According to JAMB, once all the necessary preparations are completed, the results of candidates who have taken the exams since its commencement on Friday, April 19, will be made available. This announcement was made on Saturday, April 20, amidst ongoing UTME 2024 sessions across various Nigerian cities.

In response to inquiries, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) revealed that the first batch of UTME results will be released “any moment soon.” This disclosure was made on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, April 20.

The 2024 JAMB UTME examination, which began on Friday, April 19, is scheduled to conclude on Monday, April 29. A total of 1,985,642 candidates have registered for the examination, marking a significant increase compared to the 1,595,779 candidates who registered for the 2023 edition. JAMB aims to ensure the completion of all necessary screenings before the release of the UTME 2024 results.

JAMB’s primary role is to conduct the UTME 2024 for aspiring undergraduates seeking admission into Nigerian universities. Additionally, the board is responsible for administering similar examinations for applicants to public and private monotechnics, polytechnics, and colleges of education in Nigeria. The validity of JAMB’s UTME score is limited to one year, ranging from 0 to 400.

The subject combination for the exam varies based on the candidate’s desired course of study, although English language is mandatory for all candidates. Following the completion of the yearly examination, JAMB convenes to determine the cut-off marks for tertiary institutions, with universities typically having higher cut-off marks compared to other institutions.
