The 2024 May/June WASSCE timetable has been released by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), providing a comprehensive roadmap for candidates across the region.

The examination, slated to commence on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, marks the beginning of a critical period for students as they prepare to demonstrate their academic prowess in various subjects. Transitioning into mid-May, candidates will face the English Language examination on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. This pivotal assessment encompasses Essay, Objective, and Test of Orals components, challenging students’ language proficiency and communication skills.

As the month progresses, Thursday, May 30, 2024, emerges as a significant date on the timetable, earmarked for General Mathematics/Core Mathematics examinations in both Essay and Objective formats. This section tests candidates’ mathematical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.

From Monday, June 17, 2024, to Wednesday, June 19, 2024, a hiatus is observed to coincide with the Eid-al-Adha public holiday. In a commendable display of inclusivity, WAEC has underscored its commitment to accommodating special needs candidates. Those with visual, auditory, or speech impairments will benefit from an extended examination time of one and a half times the standard duration, ensuring equitable access to the assessment process.

Moreover, WAEC shared encouraging statistics regarding the performance of candidates in the recently concluded Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination for private candidates, 2024–First Series.
