APC has Announced the Suspension of Abdullahi Umar Ganduje: A picture of Ganduje, the recently suspended APC national chairman

In a surprising development, a new faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the suspension of Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the party. This latest faction, consisting of 11 executive members, cited various reasons for their decision, including allegations of corruption and anti-party activities. The suspension comes after an earlier announcement by another faction’s Legal Adviser, Haladu Gwanjo, who had also suspended Ganduje for similar reasons. However, a different faction represented by Ward Chairman Ahmad Ganduje had expressed support for the embattled chairman.

According to reports from the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), this latest faction accused Ganduje of failing to pay his dues to the party and contributing to the factionalization of the APC at the ward level. They claimed that his actions had caused internal conflicts among party members and had even played a role in the party’s failure during the 2023 elections in the state. As a result, the faction, which considers itself the authentic executive body of Ganduje’s ward, passed a vote of no confidence and imposed a new suspension on him.

The suspension of Ganduje as the National Chairman of the APC has further intensified the power struggle within the party. It remains to be seen how this factionalization will impact the party’s unity and effectiveness, especially as the 2027 general elections draw near. In the meantime, APC has announced the suspension of Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and he has been urged to refrain from parading himself as the APC National Chairman, pending further resolution of the internal conflicts within the party.

  1. If the ruling party starts having conflict within themselves what will be the faith of the citizens.
They should resolve whatever conflict they have within themselves to avoid it from escalating.
The party chairman should be called to order as to enable him return to sit, good thing a vote of no confidence has been passed to him.
