Tragic Assassination: Gunmen Target and Kill Ondo State Governor, Aiyedatiwa’s Campaign Coordinator

In a tragic incident that has sent shockwaves through the political landscape of Ondo state, unknown gunmen have ruthlessly assassinated Alaba Abbey, the campaign coordinator for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in Supare. The assailants struck at Abbey’s residence in Supare, mercilessly ending his life on Saturday evening.
According to Samuel Abbey, the elder brother of the deceased, the assailants brazenly attacked shortly after Alaba Abbey had returned home and was relaxing in front of his house around 9 pm. The suddenness and brutality of the attack have left the community in a state of disbelief and mourning.
The Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers Independent Council (LACO-FSIC)-SF has strongly condemned the heinous murder of Alaba Abbey, emphasizing the urgent need for increased security measures to protect its members throughout the state. Kayode Fasua, the information director of the organization, expressed deep grief over the loss of Abbey, also highlighting his invaluable contributions to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s campaign. Fasua called upon the police authorities to launch a thorough investigation into the gruesome murder and ensure that the perpetrators are swiftly brought to justice.
Alaba Abbey played a significant role in the political landscape of Ondo state, serving as the Returning Officer for the recently concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election. Moreover, he held the position of ward coordinator for the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organization Foot-Soldiers (LACO-SF) in Ward 10, making his untimely demise a major blow to the local political community.
