DNA of Late Usifo Ataga’s Blood Matches Chidinma Ojukwu’s Dress, Trial Takes New Turn
In the latest development of the ongoing murder trial involving Chidinma Ojukwu, a crucial revelation emerged as Dr. Richard Somiari, the 11th prosecution witness and Director/Consultant for the Lagos State DNA & Forensic Centre, testified before the Lagos High Court on Tuesday, April 16. Somiari provided pivotal evidence regarding the DNA blood sample found on Ojukwu’s red dress, indicating a significant breakthrough in the case.
According to Somiari, the items submitted as evidence, which included a stained red dress and an army green T-shirt, among others, were meticulously analyzed. The objective was to construct an evidence triangle aimed at establishing a connection between the suspect and the crime scene, as well as the victim, late Usifo Ataga.
In his testimony, Somiari underscored the pivotal finding that the DNA on the red dress conclusively matched that of the victim, Ataga. However, he made a striking revelation that the DNA did not correspond to Chidinma Ojukwu or the other co-defendants, Chioma Egbuchu and Adedapo Quadri. This revelation casts new light on the intricate web of evidence surrounding the case, potentially reshaping the narrative of the trial.
As the proceedings continue, this revelation adds a layer of complexity to the case, prompting further scrutiny and analysis from both the prosecution and defense teams. The meticulous forensic examination conducted by Dr. Somiari underscores the importance of scientific evidence in unraveling the truth behind this tragic incident. As the trial unfolds, the revelation of DNA evidence serves as a pivotal turning point, shaping the trajectory of the legal proceedings and bringing the quest for justice one step closer to resolution.
I believe the DNA test result will help in a positive and accurate conclusions of the case and make the culprit to face the law.
Nice one
